First Grade Room 10

 

Welcome to our 1st Grade class! We will be very busy learning all sorts of fun and exciting things in Room 10 this year! Although we will be starting our year remotely, we will be focusing on grade level standards in math with our new Eureka Math program, reading and writing independently and learning the skill of close reading with our Language Arts program, Social Studies through Scholastic New Magazines and our Social Studies curriculum. As well, we will be creating goals for reading independently with our Accelerated Reader (AR) program once school resumes on campus. We will also be learning a lot through our new Amplify Science program about Life Science and Earth Science focusing on Next Generation Science Standards! We will be continuing to learn and improve upon our technology skills along the way in all that we are doing and learning as well.

 

We will be learning how to take care of our health and teeth through nutrition education and P.E. during this school year.  And don't forget about our creative sides with amazing lessons in Art and Music!

 

We will hope to be able to have Field Trips later in the year that will add to our educational experiences in real world ways, so keep your eyes open for those trip slips coming home in the future hopefully!

 

We are starting this school year in a way that we have never done before, but it is my goal to never have a dull moment in Room 10 (from home or at school) and to provide your child a wonderful First Grade year!
